Antonio Carangelo

 

Maestro Antonio Carangelo is a native of Lecce (Italy). He had his musical training at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva and the Accademia d'arte Lirica in Osimo, Italy. He made his debut at the Grand Theatre de Geneve in Switzerland. After his debut as Ernani at the New York Grand Opera, that opened the doors to many engagements in the world of opera, operetta and song, David Westwood reported in the review of OPERA NEWS, about Carangelo's obvious stage presence, musical interpretation and his excellent belcanto vocal technique.
Thanks to his intensive studies with Maestro Mario del Monaco and Maestro Ettore Campogalliani, the same teacher of Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni, Tebaldi and many more, he has gained an impressive experience and a wide range of repertory by performing at theatres all over the world.

In recent years Mr. Carangelo has dedicated himself to intensive vocal coaching (technique and interpretation). He is running his own private school in Vienna and leading international master classes all over the world.
Since 2007 Maestro Carangelo is member of the jury of the international voice competition in Carlbad.
Among his students you find soloists from Vienna State Opera, Deutsche Oper (Berlin), La Fenice (Venice), La Scala (Milan), Salzburger Festspiele, Colon (Buenos aires) etc.
